Emjondolo Art in Action Development Programme:

Emjondolo Art in Action Development Programme (EAADP) was a 2 months outreach programme by MADE, the programme commenced from 01 August 2020, till 01 October 2020. The programme was conducted by qualified arts practitioners from Made with professional skills on sculpture making, painting and mosaic work. Selected artists were admitted through area visits, interests and skills portrayed on all the art mediums that were used on the programme.

The projects main objective was to develop artists within previously disadvantage communities, create jobs for the poor, promote self-dependence amongst our people and to further develop business skills for self-sustenance of art project. The project also promoted reservation of our history and heritage because squatter camps forms part of our historic journey and documentation of stories by our people will live for many years to come.

The project was subdivided into 3 programmes namely, training, exhibition, and the online booklet. All programmes carried one vision which was a vision of exposing the talent found at our squatter camps, develop business acumen amongst artists found in our squatter camps, sell and expose the talent found in our squatter camps, and also develop a longevity plan for self-sustainability of artists and interested partners.
